Position: Portfolio Manager, Digital Health

Division: Marketplace, Supply-Side

Status: Full Time 

Location: Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX or U.S. Remote

Reports to: Director, Marketplace

This role will not have direct reports initially but may have direct reports as Panda grows.

Role Summary

As the Digital Health Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for growing the digital health technologies and suppliers on Panda’s marketplace. In addition, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional experience to both digital health suppliers and health system buyers as they partner with Panda to sell and procure digital health technologies. From sourcing suppliers & vetting their technologies, to managing competitive bids, negotiating & managing contracts, and supporting health system procurement of digital technologies, you will lead Panda’s efforts alongside the Director, Marketplace to execute Panda’s marketplace growth strategy. As a key early employee at Panda, you will directly influence strategic and operational decisions for the marketplace, work directly with Panda’s C-suite executives, partner with senior leadership at digital health companies and health systems, and gain valuable experience in scaling a fast-growing healthcare venture.

Your key responsibilities

Digital Health Intelligence (50% of time)

  • Partner with Panda’s Intelligence team to learn about and get smart quickly on defined digital health categories by conducting primary and secondary market research with health systems, suppliers, and other parties 
  • Be the digital health expert for defined categories by staying up to date on market trends, suppliers’ existing and future capabilities and offerings, the digital health technology’s value and outcomes, and health system use-case needs and requirements
  • Develop and present digital health category intelligence and overview materials to health system stakeholders to help them procure digital health technologies through Panda’s Marketplace
  • Develop digital health supplier comparison briefs by category to assist health systems with supplier matchmaking based on their needs
  • To perform the above, attend relevant industry conferences and virtual sessions, conduct live demos with suppliers, complete RFIs, and interview relevant stakeholders 

 

Category Bid Management (30% of time)

  • Supplier Development: Source relevant digital health suppliers and help pitch them on Panda’s value prop to obtain their commitment to join Panda by participating in category bids
  • Sourcing & Bid Management: Manage the competitive bid process for defined digital health categories for Panda and health system buyers by issuing and managing the category RFP process from start to finish.
  • Negotiate Supplier contracts alongside the Director, Marketplace

 

Contract Management (10% of time)

  • Manage and maintain active supplier contracts including negotiating contract amendments and contract extensions
  • Manage and facilitate contract negotiations between Suppliers and health system Buyers when a transaction occurs for your defined category
  • Develop and recommend plan to renew or rebid existing category contracts

 

Supplier Management (10% of time)

 

  • Manage supplier relationships for your defined categories through monthly meetings and ad-hoc initiatives
  • Collaborate with Director(s) to manage quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with contracted suppliers to (a) review business growth through Panda and address current opportunities, (b) understand ongoing implementations and needs, (c) ensure suppliers are meeting SLA performance guarantees, (d) address recurring and open buyer or Panda issues with supplier, (e) obtain updates on suppliers’ new capabilities and future roadmap, and (f) understand supplier satisfaction and needs. 
  • Help resolve critical and non-critical issues with suppliers arising from buyers and Panda
  • Help Director(s) resolve supplier grievances

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a work-related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Clear understanding of health system IT and Digital Health technology procurement
  • Strong communication skills; Motivated self-starter in fast paced environment

Experience

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience in the Digital Health or Health IT field for a consulting firm, digital health company or healthcare organization
  • Digital Health / IT sourcing & vetting experience in healthcare highly preferred
  • Clear understanding of health system technologies including, but not limited to, EMRs, virtual care, scheduling systems, provider directories, patient portals, CRM, RCM technologies, and call center technologies 
  • Proven project management experience
  • Great communication and presentation skills to senior executives
  • Proven experience conducting primary and secondary market research, synthesizing findings, and data to develop meaningful conclusions, and using insights to develop market intelligence reports
  • Proficiency in developing exceptional presentation slides and client-facing reports and building and maintaining spreadsheet models
